A relaxing holiday can be spent visiting castles, whisky distilleries, art galleries or just taking in the history and scenery of the surrounding area. There are a number of short walks in and around Ballater as well as the Old Royal Station tourist centre, a variety of shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants all within minutes walk of the apartment.
Or just curl up on the sofa with a good book!
For a more active holiday walking, hiking, biking, fishing, golf and tennis are all available on the doorstep. Ballater is within the bounds of the Cairngorms National Park with all it has to offer while in winter the ski centres of Glenshee and the Lecht are nearby.
For gliding enthusiasts nearby Aboyne airfield is renowned for being the foremost Wave soaring site in the British Isles, with the U.K. altitude record of 38000 Ft. being set by a glider flown from the Deeside Gliding Club. Lesser mortals may just want to experience this sport on a trial flight taking in magnificent views of the Cairngorms.
