Royal Deeside is in the heart of Scotland and lies in the magnificent valley of the River Dee. Rising high in the Cairngorm Mountains and running east to its mouth at Aberdeen the river flows through some of Scotland’s finest scenery. Midway, in the shadow of Lochnagar mountain, lies Balmoral Castle, summer home of the Royal Family.
As frost covers the hills, the Cairngorms reveal a different kind of beauty, illuminated by the winter sun. The arrival of winter in Scotland doesn’t stop exploring and adventure from happening – simply wrap up warm and head for the hills!
The peaks and sweeping valleys of the Highlands offer endless opportunities for exploration and never to be forgotten experiences, from hiking or biking, to skiing and snowboarding with the arrival of snow in nearby Glenshee and The Lecht. There’s something for everyone in this breathtaking natural playground, and don’t forget to also look up – with low light pollution, incredible vantage points and vast horizons, the Cairngorms is the perfect place to witness the Aurora Borealis or admire the Milky Way.
After a day of adventure outdoors with family and friends, there’s nothing better than returning to our luxury Tullich Apartment to coorie up in front of the TV and indulge in a delicious dinner as you unwind and embrace the evening ahead, recounting the events of the day.
