Spring into the Season at Tullich Apartment

After the rain…

Well, we can certainly say that the first few months of 2026 gave our gardens across Aberdeenshire a good watering ! But, as we know, after the rain comes the rainbow and that couldn’t be truer in Royal Deeside as the stunning colours of the blossoming flowers transform our landscapes; the blooming of the bright golden gorse, the deep purples of the crocuses and the happy yellow daffodils that indicate the turn of the season and hopeful new beginnings.. and the tiny white snowdrops peeping their heads through the soil.

Buzz in Ballater

The bees aren’t the only ones buzzing this spring! As always, there is plenty of busyness and activity throughout the season in our lively village. May sees the Ballater Walking Festival and keen hikers from near and far return to our corner of the world which is a haven for the outdoor enthusiasts. Another popular, bustling event is the Ballater Farmers’ Market which returns on a monthly basis from April. Get your fix of local produce, from fresh meat to cheese, to baked goods and crafts.

Run Balmoral 2026

On the first weekend of April Run Balmoral takes place at the Royal Family’s Highland Home. Whether you’re lacing up your trainers, supporting from the sidelines, or having fun with the family at the event village, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Get out and about and explore the Royal Deeside area – we have incredible historic castles and baronial mansions, river loch and sea fishing, golf, walking trails, cycle pathways, gliding and many other exhilarating outdoor activities all within east access of Ballater.
